I started Barrington Home Buyers in 2015. My wife Casey and I still run it together, alongside a fantastic team that is excited to work with you. Real estate has been in my family for four generations. Send us the address of your North Carolina house, and my team will put a cash offer in writing and let you pick the closing date.

Where we buy in North Carolina
We buy houses in every one of North Carolina's 100 counties.
Most of the North Carolina houses we have bought are in the Triad and in the Catawba Valley around Hickory. We also buy around Charlotte, in the Triangle, in the Sandhills and out toward the coast and the mountains.
The Triad
Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point, in Guilford and Forsyth counties. Older houses in town, rentals and family homes out in the county all get the same written offer.
Hickory and the Catawba Valley
Hickory, Newton, Statesville, Morganton and Lincolnton, plus the houses around Lake Norman in Sherrills Ford. If the house runs on a well and a septic tank, that is fine with us.
Charlotte and Gaston County
Charlotte, Gastonia and Stanley, in Mecklenburg and Gaston counties. An older house close to Uptown and a newer one in the outer suburbs both get a close look.
Raleigh, Durham and the Triangle
Wake and Durham counties and the smaller towns around them. Rentals near the universities and long-time family homes are both a fit.
The Sandhills and the coast
Fayetteville, Pinehurst and Jacksonville, and on down to Wilmington. Military families with new orders can set the closing around the date they have to report.
The mountains and rural North Carolina
Asheville and the mountain counties, plus farm country in the east. Cabins, mobile homes on land and houses with storm or flood damage all qualify, even when the nearest town is a long drive away.

North Carolina rules that affect a sale
What changes when the house is in North Carolina.
You are behind on payments
Most North Carolina foreclosures go through a hearing before the clerk of superior court. If you live in the house, the servicer has to mail you a notice at least 45 days before it files, and you get notice of the hearing at least 10 days ahead. After the courthouse sale, anyone can raise the bid for another 10 days. If we close before the sale, the loan is paid off at closing and the foreclosure stops.
The owner passed away
The clerk of superior court in the county where the owner lived handles the estate and names a personal representative, who usually signs for the estate at closing. Creditors get at least three months to file claims. We can settle on a price early and close once the estate is ready.
There are tenants in the house
A sale leaves the lease in place. The seller either transfers the security deposits to the new owner and tells the tenants in writing, or refunds them. Tenants can stay put while we buy the house.
You live out of state
You can sell a North Carolina house without making the trip back. We can make an offer from the address and photos, and the closing attorney can explain how to sign the papers from where you live now.
Everything above is general information about how North Carolina sales usually go. If you need advice on your mortgage, an estate or a lease, a North Carolina attorney can help.

DivorceHow a North Carolina sale works
Four steps from the first call to a North Carolina closing.
North Carolina closings are handled by a real estate attorney. The attorney searches the title, draws up the deed and pays off the mortgage out of the sale proceeds.
- Tell us about the house.
Call (706) 705-7703 or use the form at the top of the page. Let us know who is living there and anything you already know needs work.
- A specialist calls you.
We talk through the details of the house with you. Usually that means one short visit, though photos work if you live out of state.
- You get a written cash offer.
We price it from the repairs it needs, how old the roof, heating and cooling are, and what nearby houses have sold for lately. You are free to turn it down.
- Close with the attorney.
With a clear title, about seven days is possible. If you need longer to move, we can set the date as far as six months out.
North Carolina questions
What North Carolina sellers ask us first.
How long does a foreclosure take in North Carolina?
There are several steps. First comes the 45-day notice, then a hearing before the clerk of superior court, then the courthouse sale and a 10-day upset bid period. The earlier you call, the more choices you have, so reach out when that first letter arrives.
Do I need an attorney to sell a house in North Carolina?
Yes, a real estate attorney runs every closing here. That attorney makes sure the title is clear, draws up the deed and pays your loan and any liens out of the proceeds. We can often pay those attorney fees along with your closing costs.
Do you buy houses outside Charlotte and the Triad?
Yes. We have closed in places like Pinehurst, Jacksonville, Warrenton and Morganton, and any county in the state is worth a call. Give us the address and you will get an honest answer about whether it fits.
Will you buy a house that needs a lot of work?
Yes. We buy North Carolina houses with roof leaks, foundation trouble, fire or water damage, or tenants still living in them. You do not have to clean it out either, so leave behind anything you do not want.
Can I sell a North Carolina house I inherited if I live somewhere else?
Yes. Send a few pictures along with the address, and we can price the house without you making the trip. If the owner died within the last two years, the closing attorney will check whether the estate's personal representative needs to sign the deed too.
Reviews
What three sellers said about working with us.
Selling our home was incredibly easy. We quickly received a fair offer. The terms and options were clear, and Barrington delivered everything they promised without any issues, from offer to closing. Kris was open and honest with their offer, Ellie followed up throughout the process, and Parker helped us with a referral and more as we found a place to live. Based on my experience, I highly recommend Barrington.
Barrington Acquisitions is #1. They were very professional and did everything they said they would in a very timely manner. We had a house with problems and it had been on the market for quite some time. I would recommend them for anyone needing to make a quick sale for a fair price. Thank you Luke and Parker!
I’d like to say the entire process with Barrington and their team of professionals was a pleasant experience. Their team kept us apprised of what to expect from the initial contact with them all the way through the closing process. For us, we needed to move and going this route enabled us to get moved in a very timely and carefree manner.
